The ISDS Research Committee Award Sub-Committee developed the Awards for Outstanding Research Articles in Biosurveillance in order to recognize disease surveillance scientists and professionals for contributions to their fields of research.
All articles summarized by members of the ISDS Literature Review Sub-Committee between May 2017 and April 2018 were eligible. The pool was then narrowed by the Literature Review Sub-Committee to 26 articles. ISDS members were invited to nominate one or more of the 26 articles or suggest additional relevant articles. The Award Sub-Committee reviewed all nominated articles and put forward 3 finalist articles in each award category. The ISDS membership voted to determine the final Award winners.
