Mike Coletta (CDC) provided an update on the NSSP SAS Studio Pilot as well as the updated CC&DD categories (Heroin, Stimulant, Opioid, etc.).
Topic of the month: Sexual and Intimate Partner Violence Surveillance
Amanda Morse(Washington) provided an overview of Washington's pilot test of the newIntimate Partner Violence Query, v1developed in collaboration with CDC's NSSP Team. This syndrome is currently available in both the Syndrome Definition Library of the Surveillance Knowledge Repository and the CC&DD Category of ESSENCE.
Ashley D'Iverno (CDC - Division of Violence Prevention) and Nimi Idaikkadar(CDC) discussed the drivers for the development of the Sexual Violence Query, v2and shared some of the implications of this work when looking at national trend data. They also spoke about ongoing efforts to assist with building collaborations between syndromic surveillance and violence prevention programs.
